With my client's consent I have included a few testimonies.

I came to Coco with almost no experience of the therapeutic process, and she was a saint in guiding me and answering my never-ending stream of questions throughout. I had assumed that building a rapport would be a time-consuming process, but in 3 or 4 sessions I felt comfortable sharing openly with Coco, I was especially placed at ease based on her previous experience counselling in a queer organisation, as queerness is a large aspect of my identity and would come up alongside other themes regularly.
Coco had a very intuitive way of pushing me just enough to challenge my patterns, and knowing when/where I did not yet have the capacity to stretch. She was also especially helpful at drawing my attention to my emotional state as opposed to my ever to often tendency to intellectualise experiences/emotions. It is hard to pinpoint a particular takeaway from my time with Coco, with her help I was able to tackle addiction, to speak about and take concrete steps towards my desires, uncover and nurture my past selves, but most importantly for me, to recognise the importance of taking up space and asking for help, which I do regularly now.
Another massive takeaway from my time with Coco is a recognition of the autonomy I had to create change in my life, and an acceptance of that which was outside of my control, which has continued to aid me in striving to take imperfect action, instead of ruminating about perfect impossibilities. Coco helped hold me through what has felt like a poignant and pivotal period of my life, with the emotional goodbye reflecting the extent to which her practice has supported me. I will cherish our time together as a period of great personal uncovering and change, guided by a practitioner who never failed to lead with empathy.

I have had several therapists and I have never felt as understood and seen as I have with Coco. She clearly loves her craft and brings a comfortable humanity to all of her sessions where you are not just a client but also a whole being. I chose Coco as I felt her experience was relevant and I was seeking the safety of working with an LGBTQ+ friendly therapist but I found her breadth of knowledge could cover many areas of life with ease, from issues with intimacy to grief and chronic illness/disability.
Coco has always met me where I needed it. When we first started, I had a specific area of my life I wanted to work on but she picked up the nuances behind my words that showed other areas of my life that needed witnessing and understanding first. Whilst it could have felt like deviating off path, the reality was that working on these matters led the path instead. Coco asks questions and gently challenges me with the upmost compassion in a way that feels comfortably explorative, curious and at times even appropriately playful. In doing this, we have unlocked parts of me that had been hidden for a long time and have guided me from just being alive, to actually living.
She’s not a therapist that strays away from a well timed laugh and will make sure to find and celebrate the joys of life too. She makes sure the full human experience is welcome, from anger to silliness and anything else that comes up in the room. Instead of feeling one sided, it feels truly collaborative. I find her approach is unique and I would not hesitate to recommend working with her.

At the beginning of having sessions with Coco, I was hung up on making the most out of each session and hitting certain goals. But Coco slowly supported me to take each session as it comes, and to use the space for what I need most in that moment. I found that through this I have made more progress, am less critical of myself and have become more in touch with my experiences, feelings and needs. Coco uses a highly skilled balance of supporting and challenging me to help me grow safety at my own pace. She has been great at meeting me where I am at, while supporting gradual development in the therapeutic process.
Through using and explaining therapeutic techniques, she has helped me understand certain trains of questions and prompts to explore areas I was unaware that I needed to work on. For example, explaining transference/counter transference to support me to recognise anger that I didn’t know I was experiencing. Additionally, Coco is a very queer friendly and queer affirming practitioner that avoids using an overly clinical approach, meaning they are friendly while remaining professional. Overall, I have had a very positive experience with her, and I am looking forward to our continued therapeutic work together.
